Iowa teacher accused of sex with recent high school grad
ANKENY, Iowa -- An Iowa high school teacher has been arrested, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student who recently graduated.
Ankeny police say officers discovered 27-year-old Amanda Caye Dreier, a teacher at Ankeny High School, and the former student in a car together last month. Police say an investigation turned up an ongoing sexual relationship between the two.
Dreier, an English teacher, has been charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee. State law prohibits employees from having relationships with students through 30 days following graduation.
Dreier turned herself in to police on Friday.
