Amanda Bynes' parents granted another temporary conservatorship
After her recent DUI arrest and sudden trip to New York City, Amanda Bynes' parents are back in control of their troubled daughter's estate.
ET confirms that Lynn and Richard Bynes were granted a temporary conservatorship of the "Easy A" actress' finances on Wednesday, and TMZ reports that the parents called out several expensive gifts their daughter gave to strangers as a reason for the conservatoriship.
If this all sounds too familiar, it could be because in 2013 Bynes' mother was given control of her daughter's finances while she was undergoing treatment for mental health issues. That conservatorship ended in September.
The new decision by the courts comes a day after Bynes' mandatory psychiatric hold at a Pasadena facility was extended to 30 days. The doctors explained on Tuesday that the actress was still "very ill," and needed to remain under their care.
Bynes' return to a treatment center occurred following a series of bizarre tweets that she sent out in which she accused her father of sexually abusing her as a child. However, she deleted those claims, explaining: "The microchip in my brain made me say those things."
The "What I Like About You" star's mother also responded to the rant in a statement given to ET through her lawyer, "I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for."
The actress' troubles started up again on Sept. 28 when she got her second DUI. Bynes' strange behavior continued when she secretly fled to New York City, despite the fact that she was still serving three years probation for her DUI arrest in 2012.
