Ex-teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with child
BRANDON, Miss.-- A 42-year-old former teacher at a Mississippi has been arrested after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an 11-year-old student at the school.
Agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday charged Allison Evans Slonaker with one count of exploitation of a child and one count of gratification of lust, a charge similar to the child molestation count used in other states.
Slonaker, of Hattiesburg, about 90 miles southeast of Jackson, made her initial court appearance before Rankin County Judge Kent McDaniel and was held at the Rankin County Detention Center on $100,000 bond on the gratification count and $150,000 bond on the exploitation charge.
It was unknown if Slonaker has an attorney who could comment on the case.
