AG Jeff Sessions speaks live at Georgetown Law school
Attorney General Jeff Sessions spoke at Georgetown University Law Center Tuesday, where he addressed freedom of speech amid recent protests at college campuses around the country.
"This is not right, this is not the great tradition of America," Sessions said, referring to the recent spate of speaking engagements canceled by colleges in the face of protests and threats of violence from groups, largely targeting appearances by conservative and far-right speakers.
Sessions' comments come amid a heated national debate around the nature of freedom of speech, centering around professional athletes' decisions to take a knee or refusing to take the field during the national anthem. Bringing the two together, members of the law faculty at Georgetown took a knee to protest Sessions' appearance on Tuesday.
