After restraining order, Pennsylvania man charged for "liking" Facebook photos
PITTSTON, Pa. - A northeastern Pennsylvania man is charged with contempt of court after authorities say he violated a no-contact restraining order when he "liked" Facebook photos of a woman.
The (Wilkes-Barre) Times Leader reports that 24-year-old April Holland obtained a protection from abuse (PFA) order against 26-year-old Justin Bellanco on July 28.
Holland says Bellanco has been harassing her and her friends, even threatening to shoot her knee cap to watch her suffer.
A Luzerne County judge granted a restraining order against Bellanco, prohibiting him from any contact with Holland for a year.
According to the Times Leader, police allege that Bellanco "liked" 22 photos and videos on Holland's Facebook after the restraining order was granted.
Citizen's Voice reported that Bellanco said he did not know that "liking" Facebook photos constituted a violation, according to police. Officers spoke with a Luzerne County assistant district attorney, who confirmed that Bellanco's actions constituted a PFA violation, police said.
The Times Leader reports that Holland had a previous PFA order against Bellanco issued in April 2014 after he allegedly choked her. That order expired in April 2015.
