Actor's daughter charged with murder in baseball bat beating death
LOS ANGELES -- A woman accused of using a baseball bat to beat her boyfriend's mother to death is the daughter of actor Ray Sharkey, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Police said an argument between Cecelia Bonnie Sharkey and the victim, 54-year-old Patricia Metropoulos, broke out in front of the victim's home around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When the suspect allegedly hit the victim in the head, she fled and the victim was taken to a hospital.
Police arrested Sharkey that night without incident.
Sharkey faces one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation of lying in wait, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a news release.
Sharkey faces life in prison or the death penalty, if convicted.
