Actor Michael Jace arrested over fatal shooting of wife April Jace at home in Los Angeles
Actor Michael Jace was arrested early Tuesday morning by Los Angeles police over the fatal shooting of his wife, April Jace.
According to CBS Los Angeles, police responded to a "domestic violence" incident at a home in the Hyde Park neighborhood of south Los Angeles after neighbors reported hearing gunfire Monday evening. Responding officers found 40-year-old April Jace dead with gunshot wounds to her body.
Jace, 51, was taken into custody and booked early Tuesday on suspicion of homicide. He is being held on $1 million bail.
The LAPD said Jace was cooperating.
Two young children were also in the home at the time of the shooting, officers told CBS Los Angeles.
It was unclear what prompted the shooting, but police said Jace's wife of nine years had just returned home when the incident occurred.
Jace is best known for his roles on television shows "The Shield" and "Southland," and featured with Russell Crowe in the 2009 political thriller "State of Play."
Police confirmed to CBS Los Angeles that Jace was the only man detained in connection to the shooting.
