A&E docuseries "Generation KKK" to go inside the modern Ku Klux Klan
Television audiences are about to get a look behind the hoods of the Ku Klux Klan, thanks to a new eight-part docuseries from A&E, “Generation KKK,” the network announced Monday.
The series will follow four KKK-affiliated families that each have a member seeking to exit the group, with footage shot inside the organization’s functions.
“This series gives viewers an unprecedented look at what it is like to be born into hate,” A&E’s Rob Sharenow said in a statement. “Our producers gained access to Klan families, allowing for full immersion into this secret world and its impact on the next generation.”
“‘Generation KKK’ brings viewers inside the places where hatred and prejudice are born and bred, and carried forward or not.”
Response to news of the show was not overwhelmingly positive, though.
