"7th Heaven" actress Sarah Goldberg dies at 40

Actress Sarah Goldberg, known for her work on "7th Heaven" and "Judging Amy," has died. She was 40.

Goldberg's mother told the Chicago Sun-Times that her daughter died of natural causes at her family's Wisconsin home on Sept. 27.

"She went to sleep and didn't wake up," Judy Goldberg said.

Goldberg was probably best known for playing Sarah Glass Camden, a medical student and Barry Watson's romantic interest on "7th Heaven" from 2002 to 2006.

Watson tweeted after hearing the news:

The Chicago native appeared in the films "Jurassic Park III" and "Training Day" and had several television parts, including appearances on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Judging Amy," "Without a Trace," "House M.D." and more recently, "90210."

She graduated from Amherst College in 1996 with a major in microbiology before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

"She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' of the rabbi," Goldberg's mother told the Sun-Times about "7th Heaven." "She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on '7th Heaven.'"
