3-year-old toddler shot, wounded in southern Illinois home
GRANITE CITY, Ill. -- A drive-by shooting into a rural southern Illinois home left a 3-year-old wounded Sunday, reports CBS St. Louis.
Madison County Sheriff's Capt. Mike Dixon told the station the toddler was struck in the shoulder while playing on the floor around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Granite City, Ill. Officials say they have determined that three to four rounds were fired.
"Fortunately for everybody, the child was ultimately transported to a St. Louis area hospital where he was treated and released," Dixon told CBS St. Louis.
