2016 Golden Globe nominations: What you need to know

On Thursday, some of the biggest stars in TV and film will find out if they are in the running for a 2016 Golden Globe Award.

The 73rd annual Golden Globe nominations will be unveiled Thursday morning beginning at 8:15 a.m. ET. Actors Angela Bassett, America Ferrera, Chloë Grace Moretz and Dennis Quaid will be on hand at the Beverly Hilton to announce nominees in 25 categories.

The nominations will be streamed live on GoldenGlobes.com.

Films to look for include "Steve Jobs," "Carol," "Room" and "Spotlight," among many others. TV series that may be in the running range from "Game of Thrones" and "Narcos" to "Better Call Saul."

The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will air on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET live from Beverly Hills, California.

The 2016 Cecil B. DeMille Award will be given to Denzel Washington.
