2015 Tony Awards date and details announced
Details for the 2015 Tony Awards have started taking shape.
The Tonys will be broadcast live from New York's Radio City Music Hall on June 7 from 8-11 p.m. ET on CBS. Nominations will be announced live on April 28 from New York City.
Next year marks the 69th anniversary of the Tonys, which were first held on April 6, 1947, at the Waldorf Astoria's Grand Ballroom. The annual event honoring Broadway has aired on CBS since 1978.
The 2013 Tony Awards broadcast recently received three Primetime Emmy Awards in the categories of outstanding directing for a variety special, outstanding special class program and outstanding original music and lyrics for "Bigger!"
The 2014 Tony Awards -- hosted by Hugh Jackman -- honored "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" with best musical and "All the Way" as best play.
