2 killed in rural Mississippi plane crash

ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. - Two people are dead Sunday after their plane crashed in Attala County, Mississippi.

Federal Aviation spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said in an email to The Associated Press that the single-engine Bellanca aircraft crashed on County Road 1103 near Kosciusko, Mississippi, northeast of Jackson, at about 5 p.m.

According to WAPT News, police on the scene said that the pilot and his passenger were both killed.

Bergen said the FAA is investigating the crash and that the National Transportation Safety Board will determine what caused it.
