2 charged after believed remains of missing Fla. woman found

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Two people have been charged after human remains believed to be those of a missing St. Augustine woman were found.

St. Augustine Police Chief Loran Lueders tells media outlets in a statement that 39-year-old John Branson was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder in 46-year-old Jordie Hudson's death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Christeen Thomas was also arrested on an accessory to murder charge.

Police say Hudson was last seen April 9 at the Giggling Gator, but wasn't reported missing until Thursday.

Lueders says an investigation revealed Branson was the last person Hudson was seen with the night she disappeared.

Police say Branson led investigators to a St. Johns County residence, where they found the remains, which haven't been positively identified yet.

It isn't clear if Branson or Thomas have attorneys.
