Colorado teen killed during game of Russian roulette
PUEBLO, Colo. -- A 17-year-old teen in Colorado was killed when he allegedly loaded a single bullet into a cylinder revolver and started playing a one-man game of Russian roulette, reports CBS Denver.
Friends and family gathered to remember Cruisito Leiba, 17, the teen who police say was hanging with friends in northeast Pueblo in Colorado when he was killed.
"He shot it once, nothing happened," said Cruisito's friend Selena Aguila to CBS Denver. "He shot it twice, nothing happened. Then, he shot it the third time and we heard a big bang."
CBS Denver reports that the other teens told police he kept spinning the cylinder, pointing the gun at his head and pulling the trigger, over and over.
"We were upstairs and heard a loud bang ... ran outside, I was like, 'Someone call 911,'" said Cruisito's friend Evalina Byrd.
When officers arrived the teen was still alive, but badly injured reports CBS Denver. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
"That's awful," said neighbor George Tapia to CBS Denver. "It makes me sad for the kids nowadays, what they're doing."
Cruisito's father had a strong message at the vigil about gunplay, "You play it once, you're done."
Police tell CBS Denver they are looking into how the teen got the gun. In June a Dallas teenager was also allegedly killed playing the deadly game.
