You May Be Able To Pay For Your Parking Meter By Phone
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Parking at a meter in downtown Minneapolis can be tough -- remembering to plug it before it expires, finding an open meter and then tracking down its pay station. But soon, paying for that coveted parking spot may get easier.
The Minneapolis City Council has agreed to test remote parking meter technology, according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
With the technology, people can pay for their spot using an app on their smartphone or by phone call.
You'd also get an alert when your meter is close to expiring.
Testing will start this year and the hope is to have it city-wide by next year.
