MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Around 23,000 customers have been affected by a large power outage in parts of the Twin Cities early Wednesday afternoon, according to Xcel Energy.
An Xcel Energy representative says the outage appears to be connected to a Roseville substation. Crews are working on the problem now.
The largest area impacted looks to be centered in and around St. Anthony, which is northeast of Minneapolis, according to the outage map.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Xcel says a transformer was identified and will be rectified. Power will start to return around 2:30 p.m. and should be fully restored by 4 p.m.
