Police mistakenly report woman hurt in north Minneapolis rollover crash died

MINNEAPOLIS — Police corrected an erroneous news release on Monday that stated one of the five women hurt in a weekend crash in north Minneapolis had died from her injuries.

The women were hospitalized after the crash that happened just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday near the exit ramp from eastbound Interstate 94 to Dowling Avenue, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Three women were ejected from the vehicle, one was partially ejected and another was trapped inside, police said. Three of the women suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver is 26 years old, police said, and the other passengers are 24, 25 and 28. Police incorrectly said the 25-year-old passenger had died at North Memorial Health Hospital.

None of the victims have been publicly identified. Police said they are investigating if the driver was intoxicated. No arrests have been made.
