Woman, 50, Dies From Injuries In New Ulm Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 50-year-old woman who was rescued from a fire in southern Minnesota on Thursday later died from her injuries.

The Brown County Sheriff' Office was called to a fire at about 9:28 p.m. Thursday on the 100 block of Center Street in New Ulm. When authorities arrived, several occupants of the building had to be rescued from the main floor.

Fire crews rescued a woman from her second story bedroom. She was taken to New Ulm Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. The woman was identified as Darcy Mary Moldan.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the New Ulm Fire Department with assistance from New Ulm Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
