Wolves' Karl-Anthony Towns Earns Another Rookie Award

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns is well on his way to winning the NBA's Rookie of the Year award.

Towns became the first player in Timberwolves history to earn the Western Conference Rookie of the Month award for the fifth straight month. He's also the ninth player to get the award five straight times since its inception in the 1981-82 season.

Towns led all qualified rookies in March in rebounding (10.5 per game), field goal accuracy and player efficiency rating while ranking second in scoring with 21.9 points per game. He was also second in blocked shots and minutes per game.

He also averaged 21.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in February to become the fourth rookie in the last 20 years to have at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per game in consecutive months.
