Wild Trade For Coyotes' Martin Hanzal

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Wild announced Sunday night a trade for the Arizona Coyotes' Martin Hanzal and Ryan White.

The Wild sent Arizona a 2017 first round draft pick, a 2018 second round pick, a conditional 2019 fourth round pick and forward Grayson Downing in exchange for Hanzal, White and a 2017 fourth round pick.

Hanzal, a 30-year-old, 6-foot-6, 266 pound forward from the Czech Republic, has 26 points in 51 games with the Coyotes this season. He's played 10 seasons for Arizona since the team drafted him in the first round of the 2005 NHL Draft.

Twenty-eight-year-old White has 13 points in 46 games this season. Before the Coyotes, he played several seasons with the Montreal Canadiens.

Downing, 24, has spent three seasons with the Iowa Wild, totaling 22 points in 47 games this year.

According to the Wild, Arizona will retain half of Hanzal's salary.

Hanzal will wear #19 for the Wild, while White will don the #21 jersey.
