Wild Re-Sign Restricted Free Agent Folin For 2 Years

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have re-signed defenseman Christian Folin to a two-year contract.

The deal was done Saturday with the restricted free agent.

Folin had two goals, eight assists and 13 penalty minutes in 40 games as a rookie for Minnesota last season, also playing 13 games for the Iowa Wild in the AHL. The 24-year-old native of Gothenburg, Sweden, was undrafted but signed with the Wild out of UMass-Lowell near the end of the 2013-14 season.

Folin played sparingly down the stretch after the Wild acquired veteran defenseman Jordan Leopold in a trade.
