Wild Blog: Finding Ways To Win
It is amazing to me how this Wild team just keeps finding ways to win, and the fan in me is loving every minute of it!
We just keep climbing up those playoff ranks and just take a moment to let these next stats sink in a little bit. The Wild are 15-2-1 since the All-Star break. Wow! Oh and they've also won their last 5 games on the road. With that in mind – Here's my top 4 reasons to watch the Minnesota Wild beat the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. (Yes I said beat, I can't help it I'm a die-hard fan and can't bring myself to say anything negative!)
- Devan Dubnyk will be in goal: Need I say more? OK, I will. Dubnyk will be making his 23rd straight start for Minnesota. He's got a 1.63 goals against average in that time. And, let's be honest, without him in net, I'm not even sure we'd be talking about the playoffs right now!
- Jason Pominville has finally found the net: He's got three goals in his past three games. Two of them came last night to help the Wild beat the Caps in Washington. There were more than a few games this year that I was frustrated with Pominville who seemed to keep missing the net, but he seems to have found his game and is doing what he came here to do, score goals.
- Zach Parise keeps working: He helped set up both of Pominville's goals last night in Washington and I just can't say enough about his work ethic. If you've never taken the time to watch him play it's worth it. Watch him for an entire shift and pay attention to what he's doing. You'll see a player that never quits. He's always moving, always battling for the puck and is always looking for the net.
- History: If history repeats itself, we should be good! The Wild dominated the Hurricanes at home in February by a score of 6-3. Thomas Vanek had one of his best games scoring two goals and getting one assist.
Enjoy the game and as always go Wild!
