Washington County Sheriff's deputies were first to hit the water and found the boat about 650 yards from shore, but weren't able to initially locate a body.

At about 12:12 p.m., the county's dive team recovered a man's body. About six hours later, the body of another man was recovered. The water in that area is between 30-40 feet deep.

On Wednesday, the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office identified the men as 51-year-old Demetrius Kekedakis and 65-year-old Perry Montpetit, both from Hudson.

The circumstances surrounding the drownings are still under investigation.
