Walker Won't Attend Trump's Wisconsin Stop
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker won't join GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on a Wisconsin campaign stop this week.
Trump is scheduled to appear Friday in Green Bay. Walker is scheduled to visit northern Wisconsin that day to meet with residents and local officials recovering from flash flooding last month. Walker's campaign says he will be unable to participate in Trump's event but will join Trump in the future as long as the events don't interfere with his work in Wisconsin.
Walker's trip to northern Wisconsin will mark the third time he has visited the region since the flooding in mid-July. Trump said Tuesday that he doesn't support House Speaker Paul Ryan in his GOP primary. Ryan and Walker are close friends.
Walker supported Ted Cruz in Wisconsin's GOP presidential primary.
