Vikings Send Cassel, Rudolph To See Specialists

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph is scheduled to see a specialist about a muscle injury that forced him out of the game at New Orleans.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Rudolph will visit Tuesday with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia. Asked Monday if Rudolph will need surgery, Zimmer said no decision has been made.

The Vikings lost a lot Sunday against the Saints. Rudolph was one of four starters who left the game, including quarterback Matt Cassel, right guard Brandon Fusco and linebacker Chad Greenway. Cassel broke bones in his left foot, Fusco hurt a chest muscle and Greenway aggravated a rib injury. Nickel cornerback Josh Robinson also departed with a right hamstring injury.

Zimmer said Cassel will see a specialist Thursday before a timetable on his return is determined.
