Vikings Release DB Taylor Mays

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that they have released defensive back Taylor Mays.

Mays was entering his sixth NFL season and had previously played for three seasons under coach Mike Zimmer with the Cincinnati Bengals. The move was made while the Vikings are at work at mandatory minicamp this week at Winter Park.

Mays, who was a second-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2010, signed a one-year contract with the Vikings in the offseason. He has recorded 98 career tackles in 66 games, including one sack, over five seasons.
