Vikings First Draft Pick Talks NFL Expectations

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Vikings used their first-round draft pick to pump up their defense.

With the 11th pick, Minnesota took cornerback Trae Waynes out of Michigan State University. He met with press Friday at Winter Park.

"It's been really hectic," Waynes said. "I've been really anxious and ready to get this process over, but after I got that call I was finally able to breathe a little bit, and I'm finally able to start this new journey."

Waynes grew up in Wisconsin and says he's happy his parents will be able to drive over and catch a game.

Still, he did say that he's not a Packers fan.
