Vikings Sign 2 Players, Set Active Roster At 90

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings have signed kick returner and former Minnesota Golden Gopher Troy Stoudermire.

The Vikings announced the signing on Monday along with rookie cornerback Tre Roberson from Illinois State.

Stoudermire set the NCAA record for kick return yardage while he was with the Gophers and spent time at both cornerback and receiver. He spent the last three years as a defensive back in the CFL, but the Vikings are calling him as a receiver in his return to Minnesota.

Stoudermire's best chance at making the team will be as a return specialist, where he will compete with Cordarrelle Patterson, Marcus Sherels and others for that job.

The signings give the Vikings the maximum 90 players on the roster.
