Vigil Set For Man Shot Dead In Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A vigil is planned Friday evening in honor of a man who was shot to death one week ago in downtown Minneapolis.

Twenty-eight-year-old Justin Murry Williams, of Bloomington, was found shot several times near the intersection of North 10th Street and Currie Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. There is currently no suspect in custody.

Williams, who was a Southwest High School graduate, died at Hennepin County Medical center about ninety minutes later.

Mad Dads of Minneapolis is holding a vigil at 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army at 1010 Currie Avenue, near the site of Williams' death.

Organizers say Williams' mother was informed there were several witnesses to the shooting, and she is urging them to contact the Minneapolis Police tip line anonymously at 612-962-TIPS (8477).
