Suspect, Victim In St. Paul Weekend Homicide ID'd
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in St. Paul have identified the suspect and the victim killed in a weekend homicide in the city's Lowertown neighborhood.
Charlotte Ann Rawls, 52, was found dead early Saturday morning after shots were reported in an apartment complex on the 200 block of 5th Street East, police say.
Near Rawls officers found a man who'd been shot several times. He was brought to Regions Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Police have not identified him.
The suspect, 29-year-old Scott Alan Klund, of St. Paul, was arrested at the scene, police say.
Klund served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008. He was discharged in 2011.
It remains unclear what led to the shooting or if Rawls died from gun fire.
The homicide is under investigation.
