USPS Adds Sunday Package Delivery For Areas Affected By Blizzard
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — In response to this week's blizzard across North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, the U.S. Postal Service plans to open post offices and deliver packages on Sunday across much of the affected region.
Dakotas District Manager Doug Stephens says Mother Nature knocked the postal service on its heels this week, so they're taking this "extraordinary step" to help honor their commitments during the holiday season.
There won't be regular main delivery Sunday, but packages will be delivered in and around communities with ZIP codes that begin with the following three digits: 565, 567, 580, 582, 583, 584, 585 and 587.
Post offices in many smaller communities in the impacted area will be open Sunday with full retail and post office box services. Hours will vary.
