Unseasonably Cold Temperatures Envelop State
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Another polar blast has Minnesotans chilled to the bone during a winter season that never seems to end.
Temperatures will struggle to break zero Thursday in Minnesota where the National Weather Service posted a wind chill warning for north and central regions. A wind chill advisory was in effect to the south.
The state is wrapped in double-digit subzero temperatures early Thursday -- even without the wind chill factor.
Relatively few schools canceled classes because of the dangerous temperatures, but some delayed the start by two hours, including New Ulm, Red Wing and New Prague schools.
Forecasters say that even with the sunshine, it will be a slow climb out of the freezing temperatures.
