Unrest In Ferguson Sparks Protest In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, has fueled protests in Minnesota.

A weekend of peaceful protests in Ferguson was interrupted when a gun fight broke out between two groups Sunday night. People were marching to remember Michael Brown, the black unarmed teenager shot and killed by a white police officer one year ago.

Plain clothes police caught up with one of the alleged gunman and shots were exchanged, leaving an 18-year-old man in critical condition.

The Black Liberation Project and the Minnesota chapter of Black Lives Matter plan to protest the shooting Monday evening in St. Paul's Hamline Park.

The "SHUT IT DOWN" solidarity demonstration starts at 6 p.m.
