Police Seeking Suspect In Sexual Assault Near 'U' Campus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are looking for a suspect involved in an early Sunday morning sexual assault near the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, according to a crime report from the school.

It happened at around 1:00 a.m. on the 1100 block of 5th Street Southeast. Police say the victim was at a house party when a man approached and sexually assaulted her. Bystanders soon came to help and the suspect fled. Investigators say no one at the party recognized him.

According to the crime report, the victim describes the suspect as a medium-colored black male, 18 to 22 years old, with a light build, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, clean shaven and with short dread locks. He was wearing a dark t-shirt with dark pants, possibly jeans, the report says.
