UMN Aurora Center For Advocacy Begins 'Got Consent' Campaign

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's Welcome Week at the University of Minnesota and some university centers are taking advantage of the extra hype.

All week long the University of Minnesota Aurora Center for Advocacy & Education is quizzing students about consent.

Using the hashtag #UMNAffirmativeConsent, the center is asking questions each day on Facebook. The first five students to answer the questions correctly win a pair of "Got Consent" underwear or a button.

The quiz is meant to bring awareness to the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking on campus. According to the university, the center hopes that by raising awareness they can reduce these issues on campus and help make a safer environment.

The Aurora Center for Advocacy & Education works with university students, faculty or alum who have been victims of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking or harassment. They offer free and confidential intervention and consultation services.
