U Of M Police: Missing 20-Year-Old Last Seen Leaving Roy Wilkins Hall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- University of Minnesota police have issued a missing person alert for a 20-year-old who was last seen earlier this week.

Police need the public's help in locating David Michael Miller, who was last seen leaving Wilkins Hall on the university's campus around 9 p.m. Tuesday. His roommates reported him missing Wednesday night at around 11 p.m.

Miller is described as 6-foot-1, 175 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. He was wearing dark pants and a dark jacket.

On Thursday afternoon, police boats and drones were searching the Mississippi River near the Washington Avenue Bridge, close to campus. Police say Miller did not have his cell phone when he left, although they do not suspect foul play.

"As far as we know, he did not have anything else with him, including his wallet," University of Minnesota Police Chief Matt Clark said. "We have about 2,000 cameras on campus, and we have an extensive array of video footage that we're looking through at this time."

Miller's parents, who say they are stunned, say he is a sophomore at the university studying biochemistry from St. Peter, Minnesota. They say he had no problems at school, is very steady, very reliable, and very well-loved.

Miller's parents say it makes no sense.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the University's police department at 612-624-2677 or dial 911.
