Two People Arrested In Dakota County Homicide
MINNESOTA (WCCO) - Police have arrested two people in Montana for their connection to a homicide in Dakota County earlier this month.
The incident began at about 4:45 p.m. on July 2, with authorities being summoned to reports of a burglary in progress on the 31500 block of Foliage Avenue.
An acquaintance of the person who lived there stopped by because they hadn't heard from him in a few days. When that person arrived, three people fled the residence in a car and police arrived at the scene to find a man dead in the home.
Two people at the scene that day were arrested soon after by the Northfield Police Department. The third person evaded police, but was one of the people arrested in Montana. The other person arrested in Montana was not at the scene when the other three fled, though was later identified as a suspect in the homicide.
The two were arrested after a pursuit near the city of Laurel, Mont.
According to a police report, the Dakota County Sheriff's Office issued warrants for murder in the second degree after investigating the case for a week.
Police say it is an active investigation and more details will be shared in the near future.
