Twins Call Up O'Rourke, Designate Albers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins have called up Ryan O'Rourke and designated Andrew Albers for release or assignment.

Left-handed pitcher O'Rourke, 28, has a record of 1-1 with one save, a 1.93 ERA, six walks and 29 strikeouts in 33 relief appearances with Triple-A Rochester this season. In his appearances with the Twins, he has a career 5.83 ERA with 20 walks and 29 strikeouts.

Albers, also left-handed, played in one game for the Twins, pitching six relief innings in the second game of the doubleheader against the Houston Astros on Thursday. Albers allowed five runs, three earned, on 11 hits.
