Timberwolves Get 19 National TV Games For 2016-17 Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The NBA schedule was released on Thursday, and the Minnesota Timberwolves will have 19 appearances on national television.

That list includes four appearances on TNT, six on ESPN and nine on NBA TV. For the third straight season, the Timberwolves will open the regular season on the road. They'll start the 2016-17 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Memphis Grizzlies.

Their home opener is set for Tuesday, Nov. 1, also against the Grizzlies.

For the first time in franchise history, the Timberwolves will play on Christmas Day as they are on the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their longest home stand of the season is six games and includes a Valentine's Day date with the current champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Timberwolves will also host the Golden State Warriors twice, on Dec. 11 and March 10.

It's a highly-anticipated season as the Timberwolves look to contend for a playoff spot. They have the last two NBA Rookie of the Year winners in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, a new head coach and president of basketball operations in Tom Thibodeau and plenty of new faces, including No. 5 overall pick Kris Dunn out of Providence.
