Timberwolves F Love Gets Western Conference Honor

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.

It's the second time this season Love won the award. The league made the announcement Monday.

Love scored 42 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Wolves to a 104-91 win over Indiana on Wednesday. He followed that performance with the first triple-double of his career three days later at Utah, scoring 37 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and handing out a career-high 10 assists as Minnesota beat the Jazz 121-104.

On the week Love averaged 36.7 points on 57 percent shooting, 12.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

This is the first time since the 2003-04 season that Minnesota has won multiple players of the week in the same season.
