Jason Horner charged with murder in killing of ex-girlfriend Sabrina Schnoor
Owatonna, Minn. – The manhunt for a murder suspect has ended after an early morning arrest Sunday.
Jason Horner, 38, was arrested just after 4 a.m. at an apartment in Waseca.
According to charging documents, Horner is accused in the shooting death of his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend Sabrina Schnoor.
Schnoor's body was found under an Interstate 35 overpass bridge May 30.
She died from a single gunshot wound, according to Owatonna police that responded to the scene where her body was found.
Three days later, Owatonna police shared photos of Horner and named him as a suspect in the murder.
Horner has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of illegal firearm possession in Steele County Court.
According to a criminal complaint, the day before she was found dead, Schnoor told a friend she wanted to obtain a gun because "Horner had a gun and she would feel safer with one." She also used an app to send her real-time location to a friend.
When her friend hadn't heard from Schnoor, she and others went to the location of Schnoor's phone, according to the app. They found her dead under the overpass.
Surveillance video from multiple businesses showed Horner and Schnoor together the night before she was found dead. According to the complaint, video showed the two go under the overpass together, then Horner leaving alone later.
