Teen Shot Dead In North Minneapolis Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the man who was shot and killed in north Minneapolis Wednesday evening.

Minneapolis police officers responded to a report of a shooting near New Bethel Baptist Church near 30th Street and Emerson Avenues North.

When they arrived, police were told that two men were having an argument that escalated into gunfire.

One man was shot multiple times, and then the other fled.

The medical examiner identified the victim as 19-year-old Elija Deontae Larkin of Minneapolis. He lived just a few houses away from the shooting.

Minneapolis police are still investigating the homicide.
