Target Takes Heat For Altered Pics Of Swimsuit Models
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Target is taking heat for what some hope were merely photo editing mistakes on its website.
The pictures showing a swimsuit for teens that the store has for sale appeared to have been crudely modified to alter the model's hips, arms and inner thighs.
Similar edits were found on other swimsuit pictures.
The mistake was called out online, with some saying editing the already-thin models to make them look even skinnier sends a bad message on body image to girls.
In a statement given to WCCO, Target said: "This was an unfortunate error on our part and we apologize. We have removed the image from our website."
