Target Announces Free Holiday Shipping, Price Matching
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Black Friday is still a month away, but Target is making a major move to win back consumers.
The Minneapolis-based retailer has announced it's offering free shipping on all online purchases starting Wednesday and going through Dec. 20.
A manager of the retailer's flagship store in downtown Minneapolis says the holiday season can be a hectic time of year anyway, and sometimes the weather doesn't always cooperate. Target just wanted to give their guests another perk and make it a little easier to get their shopping done.
She said that while Target normally only offers free shipping on web site orders over $50, you can order something as small as a lipstick and they'll ship it to your door for free.
Industry experts say this is just one of a number of enticements Target is pushing in order to win back customers after its massive data breach last holiday shopping season.
Target will also be extending the time frame of its price-matching policy to anytime between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24.
