Target Field Roof Deck Offers Prime View Of Summer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- All week, the WCCO Morning Show is taking you stories above the metro and showing off some of the coolest rooftops in the Twin Cities.

For Tuesday, Edward Moody was still in the spirit of the Minnesota Twins' home opener. The Roof Deck at Target Field is the only one of its kind at a Major League Baseball park.

There are about 126 seats available in the deck over left field, along with 130 stand-only spots available as well.

Moody explored some of the features available in the location, including a fire pit and a fully-loaded bar. The entire bar space is below a canopy to protect guests from the elements.

The space is available typically for groups, such as corporate outings or family reunions. The Twins say that all of the group slots have been sold out for this season, but it is still possible to get into the deck on an individual basis. They open it up for single tickets during Thursday games.

Those interested in individual deck tickets should call 612-375-7454.

Incidentally, whether they were on the Roof Deck or elsewhere in the stadium, fans seemed to be enjoying the weather on Monday after such a long winter. The paid attendance at the game was just under 36,000, which is about 4,000 below capacity.
