Target Corp. Publicly Endorses Gay Marriage
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Add Target to the list of big name companies now in support of gay marriage.
Target Corporation has signed a court brief backing marriage equality in a pending court case set for Aug. 26.
The hearing for the same sex marriage rights case Target is now endorsing is set for later this month. It involves Wisconsin and Indiana whose state officials appealed a ruling to overturn gay marriage bans.
The endorsement comes a week after the company tapped an outsider -- 55-year-old Brian Cornell -- as the new CEO. He is the former chief executive of PepsiCo.
