Suspicious Bag Prompts Partial Evacuation Of MSP Airport
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A suspicious bag that tested positive for explosive material prompted a partial evacuation of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport early Thursday morning, according to an airport official.
Airport spokeswoman Melissa Scovronski says the bag was discovered unattended at a baggage carousel at Terminal 1 at 4 a.m. The baggage claim level was evacuated and the lower level roadway was shut down for about two hours.
A Bloomington bomb squad was called in to investigate and found the bag's contents were non-threatening.
Normal operations resumed shortly after 6:45 a.m.
