Suspect In Mich. Homicide Arrested In Northern Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota say they've arrested a man wanted in Michigan in connection to an arson and homicide.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested 46-year-old Gregory Allan Rose, of Midland, Michigan, on Monday morning following a car chase.

Officials say they spotted Rose driving a government truck stolen in western Wisconsin.

The State Patrol initially tried to stop Rose for speeding on Interstate 35, just south of Mahtowa. But when the trooper flipped on his lights, Rose sped off, driving on the wrong side of the road and leading officers from multiple agencies on a chase along county and township roads, as well as a bike trail.

Rose was eventually arrested without injury, but some squad cars sustained damage when trying to stop the stolen truck.

Rose is currently in custody in Carlton County, pending charges in Minnesota. Authorities there say they're working with their counterparts in Michigan and Wisconsin.

In Michigan, Rose is wanted for a parole violation, and he's also under investigation in connection to the death of an elderly woman, whose home was set on fire.
