Stillwater Man Charged With Kidnapping, Rape Of 18-Year-Old
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Stillwater man has been charged with kidnapping and raping an 18-year-old woman Sunday.
Jeremiah Daniel Johnson, 26, was charged with kidnapping, third degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, Johnson saw the 18-year-old woman at a telephone pole at Edgerton Street and Case Avenue in St. Paul. She was intoxicated, passed out and incapacitated.
Johnson got out of his truck and picked up the victim. According to the criminal complaint, her arms were dangling and "lifeless." Johnson placed her in his truck and drove off with her inside.
The investigation led police to Johnson's apartment in Stillwater.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim in the common hallway. St. Paul and Stillwater police searched Johnson's apartment and found evidence of sexual activity.
A sexual assault examination at a Stillwater hospital also found evidence of sexual activity.
Johnson appeared in court Tuesday. His bail was set at $400,000 unconditional and $100,000 with conditions. Johnson is expected to appear in court again at 1 p.m. on July 15.
